Wilf wants to be a witch's dog. His friends don't think he can as witches don't usually have dogs as pets - they have cats, spiders and bats. But when Wilf sees an advertisement for a witch's pet he decides to apply. He disguises himself as a cat which nearly works until his disguise falls apart. But Weenie the witch hasn't had any other applicants and so decides to give Wilf a try. He helps Weenie with her flying and her spells and ends up as Witch's Pet of the Year at the Annual Show.

Wilf the Witch's dog is having a difficult day. It's Weenie's birthday and everything is going wrong. A box of tricks has gone missing at Weenie's school concert and it looks like Sly Cat and Tricky Toad have been up to some nasty tricks of their own. But with a little bit of magic and some help from his friends, Wilf gives Weenie the best birthday suprise ever...

Millie, the Bing family's dog, is very lonely in the house by herself all day. The Bings are always busy and Millie wonders where they go to every morning. She is determined to find out and, now that she is so thin because she has been too lonely to eat her biscuits, she discovers that she can get out through the cat flap. She looks behind the compost heap, outside the garden and even Somewhere Else, but instead of finding the Bings she gets lost. Millie is rescued by a little boy called Billy and soon has two homes - a daytime one and a night-time one and is never lonely again.

Poppet is a little African elephant. When he is born, his mother warns him against mice because they run up elephants' trunks. Poppet spends some time asking various creatures if they are mice and then, to his horror, one of them says 'Yes'. However, Momo the mouse persuades Poppet that he's been told an old wives' tale and the two become friends. Poppet's mother is horrified but is won over in the end by Momo's eloquence.
